Jesus' Parables Were Seeds
1/5/2007
Why did Jesus talk about the Kingdom of His Father in parables when He came here to this world? I want to know more about this. Thank you.
When Jesus spoke to people in parables he was speaking to the crowds. He told them Truths in very simple terms using illustrations from daily life. Those stories were seeds for their minds, and the seeds of Truth could grow into something larger with time if they loved the Truth. Later on in private, His disciples would ask Him, “What did you mean by that parable?” He would then explain the deeper things of the Kingdom to them in plain language. They had already made a commitment of Faith to Him and had left everything to follow Him. So He explained many things to them that He did not explain to the crowds.
Even today we are talking about very deep things of the Kingdom quite openly with you because we trust that you too have made that decision to follow Jesus. We want you to understand His thoughts as clearly as you can. Because you are disciples of Jesus, and you are learners and students of His, you will want to put into practice the things that you learn from Him. We trust you and your heart. Now it’s time for all of us to put His Word into practice.
