One Day Friendships?

speech bubble representing person 1 talkingIs this a one-day friendship? (Laughter )

speech bubble representing person 3 talkingOnly if you want it to be. It’s up to you. We’re dangerous, so it’s up to you! But we would most warmly receive the opportunity to know you every day for the rest of our lives, should God provide that and you desire it. We would love to receive from you and enjoy you as God provides it. There’s no such thing as a “one-day relationship” in Jesus. If He joined our hearts and spirits then He’ll find a way to work more depth of relationship. We’ve spent all day talking about “relationships are real” and they’re not “one-day.”

speech bubble representing person 6 talkingAbout a day before these brothers came here, I received an email from a friend, and he discouraged me and said not to welcome these brothers. I prayed to God, “Lord God, what should I do? Shall I pursue them or not? What should I do?” I responded to the letter and told him, “Thank you for the information.”

Then I decided that it would be better to meet you personally and share your presence with us, so that I myself will be able to discern whether that email is true or not. Last night I prayed to the Lord, still asking, “Lord, what can You say about these men?” And He responded, “By their fruits you shall know them.” So, I came to the conclusion last night that these people are genuine. These people are living according to God’s teachings. These people are our dearly beloved brothers. In fact I decided with my wife, and also with a dear brother, to continue this gathering in our own small ways with other brothers.

We’re starting to imitate the Law of Love through love and sacrifices. Let’s see what will happen. And we know what will happen because God is with us. He will direct us according to His grace and according to His purposes. We will grow more, and we will become more mature in Christ. As was said before, “Then the world will know that you are my disciples.” And this love is not an abstract word, but it is every day as we care for one another and love one another. We admonish one another, we encourage, and we correct. We now stop the religious things and stop the “churchanity.” We start living these things out with one another. All the glory belongs to Him.
